USRG is a platform for collaboration.

We are not just a group of scholars working out of Liechtenstein. We work across disciplines, both inside of and outside of the academy, acting as a conduit for our extensive network locally and globally. We aim to connect voices across the “Global North and South,” possible through the strong long-term partnerships we have established with institutions and organizations from civil society.

  • This long-term research partnership links with the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, primarily investigating the interstice between macro-scale processes of urbanization and household decision-making. Funded by the Volvo Research and Education Foundation (VREF). With Sarah Charlton, Alexandra Parker, Margot Rubin, Mohammed Sulemann, Lesego Tshuwa.

  • Arch Aid is a non-profit organisation founded by a group of architects, who use their knowledge and skills to build socially-oriented architecture in India. Arch Aid working together with the communities to cater to their needs and to create socially sustainable projects. They raise funds, develop projects and realize them in collaboration with local construction teams and promote the use of natural building materials to promote circular economies and bilateral knowledge transfer.

  • Im November 2017 gründete u.A. Cornelia Faißt den Verein SIDAI. Eine langjährige Forschungsarbeit über die “Maasai Baumeisterinnen” aus Ololosokwan sowie die gleichnamige Ausstellung im Frauenmuseum Hittisau sind entstanden; diese und zukünftige Unterstützungen davon fließen direkt in diverse Projekte und Ausbildungen für Mädchen und Frauen in Ololosokwan, Tansania.

  • ma ma_Baukunst versucht für die richtigen Projekte den passenden Rahmen zu schaffen. Das ist je nach Anforderung in verschiedensten Bereichen möglich. Hauptsache ist, dass es im weitesten Sinne Freude bereitet.
